Disability Royal Commission

Workpower welcomes and supports the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability.

We look forward to contributing to the discussion and actions required to deliver the preferred future for high quality, safe and sustainable disability support services – a future in which all individuals have greater choice, control and independence over the services they receive.

What is the Royal Commission?

The Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability began on the 5 April 2019. Over a three year period they will gather evidence and research towards these three goals:

Prevent and better protect people with disability from experiencing violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation

  1. Achieve best practice in reporting and investigating of, and responding to violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation

  2. Promote a more inclusive society that supports the independence of people with disability and their right to live free from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation

Share your experience

The Disability Royal Commission would like to hear from people with disability, their families and carers, organisations, and the broader community about their experiences of violence, neglect, abuse or exploitation.

This will help them make recommendations to prevent it from happening again.

You can make a submission:
