Eastcourt Backs Workpower Skills Development
Workpower welcomes a significant donation from the Eastcourt Foundation that will directly enhance skills development and training initiatives for NDIS participants and staff.
The new programs, beginning at the Bentley Hub, allow people with disability who are employed by Workpower or receive support services to access specialised online training with guidance from support coaches. Workpower has improved workplace training through practical Virtual Reality and video programs, developed by the Endeavour Foundation.
While young people with disability transitioning from school will benefit most from the Eastcourt Foundation's support, these programs will provide value to all Workpower employees and staff.
"We greatly appreciate the Eastcourt Foundation's support for people with disability in our community," said Shane O'Connor, Chief Operating Officer at Workpower. "This donation allows us to improve our training programs, creating opportunities for skill development and fostering greater independence and employability for the people we support."
βThe Eastcourt Foundation is pleased to support these innovative programs that help young people with disability build essential life skills and improve work readiness,β said Mike Oosterhof, Executive Chairman of Eastcourt Foundation.
For over 30 years, Workpower has provided disability services across Perth and regional Western Australia. As one of the state's largest social enterprises, we create opportunities and promote inclusion for people with disability, their families, and carers through NDIS support, community services, and tailored employment programs.
The Eastcourt Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Eastcourt Property Group, focuses on building sustainable benefits in community development, arts and culture, social enterprise, and research. Their approach aims to create lasting positive impacts.
