Workpower Belmont’s Safety Superstars!

Meet Michelle and Rachel, the dynamic duo keeping things safe and sound at Belmont Packaging and Warehousing.

Working two days a week, Tuesdays and Fridays, Michelle’s day-to-day revolves around packaging brackets and ensuring everyone stays safe on the job.

Michelle has been at Workpower Belmont for five years and steps into her role as a Safety Representative with passion.

“I’ve been at Workpower for 5 years, this is my first job,” she proudly shares.

“When I first started at Workpower, I fell into safety. Being safe at work means doing the right thing and making sure you don’t throw things and people are watching carefully.”

Michelle’s dedication didn’t go unnoticed; winning the safety award in 2023 left her beaming with pride. And while she thinks of exploring new roles, her heart remains set on safety. “I want to go into safety and maybe study it,” she shares.

And then, there’s Rachel, who radiates warmth and compassion in all she does.

Rachel’s Workpower journey began in March last year. Her knack for keeping people safe traces back to her previous role at Workpower’s Bentley site, when it was operated by Activ.

“I have always been interested in safety since I started,” she reflects. Whether it’s spotting hazards or lending a helping hand, Rachel is always on the lookout.

For Rachel, Workpower isn’t just a workplace, “I feel like it is more like a family here because it is a lot smaller than Bentley. It’s friendly here and everybody gets along with each other.”

Her commitment to safety runs deep, driven by a desire to ensure everyone’s well-being.

“It’s always in my heart to make sure that everyone is doing their job properly, making sure they are all safe and making sure that I can help as many people as I can,” she shares.

Despite her numerous achievements, including winning safety awards in the past, Rachel’s focus remains on helping others. “I just do it for the love of it,” she humbly admits.

Rachel also shared some words of advice to others thinking of joining Workpower. “I would say go for it. It’s a lovely place to be, and I would love to help people, whoever needs help.”
