Balcatta Hub opens: new opportunities for people with disability

Workpower has officially opened the new Balcatta Hub, providing a modern, multi-purpose space designed to deliver employment, training, and life-skills development for people with disability across Western Australia.

Opened by Disability Services Minister Hannah Beazley, the Balcatta Hub brings together learning, work experience, and supported employment in one accessible location. The transformation was made possible through State Government support, with a $958,000 Lotterywest grant enabling the upgrade of the former agricultural machinery facility into a safe, contemporary training and employment hub.

What the new Balcatta Hub offers

The Balcatta Hub ensures safe, stable jobs for 125 supported employees while creating clear pathways for school leavers and job seekers. Key features include accessible training rooms, upgraded amenities and workflow areas, purpose-designed VR learning spaces, a VR sensory suite, physical sensory rooms, quiet rooms, and breakout areas — all designed to support people to build skills, confidence, and independence.

Thank you to our partners

We also thank those who joined us to mark this important milestone: the Hon David Michael MLA; City of Stirling Mayor Mark Irwin; and representatives from Lotterywest and the City of Stirling.
