New Programs for NDIS participants start in Bunbury

People with disability in Bunbury and the South West can now access Workpower’s School, Learn, Work and Life programs locally, with the first sessions taking place this week.

Having operated work sites in the region for the past three years, Workpower has now expanded its local services to provide more opportunities for people with disability to build skills, grow confidence and increase independence.

“We’re really pleased to bring these programs to Bunbury,” Regional Lead Gareth Goodway said.

“Our customers can build new skills through learning modules developed for people with disability, then put those skills into practice at school, in the workplace and in the community. We start with each person’s interests and goals, then build support around them.”

Workpower’s Learn program helps participants build skills and confidence across both work and daily life. Modules cover topics such as goal setting, working with others, building relationships, strengthening literacy and numeracy, living a healthy and safe lifestyle, travelling independently and more.

Many modules also use video-based content designed to support different learning needs and make learning more accessible.

As part of the rollout, Workpower is partnering with local businesses and organisations to create work experience placements and volunteering opportunities, including with the Bunbury Motor Museum.

NDIS participants can access these services at Workpower’s Bunbury hub and in the community.
